Introduction

This week is about protecting the intellectual property of our final project, different kinds of intellectual property rights(IPR) and open source licensing. Also Neil mentioned about the income generation from our projects. I have gone through different ways of disseminating my projects and selected my option. The details are mentioned below.

Intellectual property Rights (IPR)

Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce. IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create.

Open source licenses

Open source licenses are licenses that comply with the Open Source Definition — in brief, they allow software to be freely used, modified, and shared. Some references that i have gone through

I chose creative commons for licensing because it seems more interactive than other options i have refered

The Creative Commons License Options

I decided to opt for a creative common license.I like others to take my project and share the improved one.and I odnt wan't others to take and reproduce my project for commercial purpose.
